Do you want to unleash your inner artist? Our Watercolour course lets you realise your creative potential and to improve your confidence in painting. This course will enable you to learn a variety of watercolour painting techniques.

Course Description

During this one-day course, you will explore botanical imagery as an inspiration to assist the tutor in guiding you step by step, to produce beautiful art for your home.

The workshop is aimed at beginners and up to those that are more confident in painting. The session will consist of learning to paint florals using watercolour.

The session will start with the tutor doing a demonstration, followed by you undertaking a basic introduction to colour mixing. You will look at scale, observing flower shapes and composition for the painting using thumbnails.

Then all students will start on their final piece of A3 artwork. You will explore various techniques and taught with confidence, how to interpret what you see, through the brush. You will also be introduced to basic colour mixing techniques, to use this within your work. As well as other watercolour techniques, you will also learn about compositions for your final art piece.

This is a lovely mindful class, and you will enjoy the tutor’s enthusiasm and feel encouraged as you learn.

The course will run on a Friday (12.00-14.00) at Ripon Community House.
