Art Appreciation

This 10 week course runs on a Wednesday evening from 6-8:00pm at Quarry Hill Campus in Leeds city centre

Course Description

Art / History Appreciation will help you to gain a deeper and richer understanding of the history of art.

This course will help you to read works of art, to uncover their meaning, and give them a historical context.

This course will further develop your appreciation of art by equipping you with the knowledge and skills to gain a deeper understanding of the history of art.

Looking at a range of historical and contemporary art you will gain a deeper understanding of several key moments in the history of art by exploring key artists and their work.

This course will introduce you to the study of art by investigating the nature of value and beauty, and situating artworks in their social and political context.
